Overview
The Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) is seeking a qualified Roman Catholic Priest to provide essential ministry, sacraments, and pastoral care services to patients, staff, and families at Hawaii's premier military medical facility.
This is a non-personal services contract open exclusively to small businesses. The awarded contractor will be responsible for fulfilling all Catholic religious support functions as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The government intends to award a single firm-fixed price contract for this role.
What You’ll Do
Provide daily pastoral care to patients, families, and staff in clinical and non-clinical environments.
Celebrate Mass on weekdays, weekends, and Holy Days of Obligation as required.
Conduct Catholic rites and sacraments, including but not limited to baptisms, anointing of the sick, confessions, and funerals.
Deliver on-call emergency pastoral services outside regular hours.
Coordinate with the Religious Support Office (RSO) and ensure ministry aligns with AMS guidelines, military protocols, and Roman Catholic doctrine.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Catholic ministry within the facility and collaborate on ecumenical and community-wide chapel events.
Maintain professional boundaries and comply with all Army regulations (AR 165-1, AR 165-18), JCAHO, and HCFA standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet all of the following:
Ordained Roman Catholic Priest in good standing.
Possess ecclesiastical faculties (license) granted by the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS), USA.
Submit a valid DD Form 2088 – Statement of Ecclesiastical Endorsement from the AMS.
Hold a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of at least 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent pastoral training.
10+ years of military chaplaincy may substitute.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital or clinical pastoral care preferred.
Proven competency in:
Worship planning and execution
Rites and sacraments of the Catholic Church
Pastoral counseling, trauma support, and family ministry
Sermon preparation and liturgical leadership
Must read, write, and speak English fluently with clear enunciation.
Able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and be on-call as required.

Staff offices and counseling rooms

Period of Performance:
Base Year: September 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026
Work Schedule: Based on approved calendar; may include variable hours, holidays, weekends, and emergency on-call support.
