Job Overview:

GD Resources is seeking a Protestant Contemporary Worship Service Music Director to lead and coordinate music for contemporary Protestant worship services at Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB). The individual will be responsible for selecting, performing, and directing music, as well as accompanying the congregation, choir, and worship team during services and special events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide music for Protestant Contemporary worship services, ensuring alignment with Christian traditions.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Protestant Chaplain to plan worship music for Sunday services and special events.
  • Select and distribute music to the worship team at least 24 hours before rehearsals.
  • Conduct weekly rehearsals separate from service days.
  • Play and accompany on keyboard and/or guitar with proper tempo and rhythm (preferred).
  • Recruit and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists for worship teams/choirs.
  • Operate sound systems and worship music projection systems (e.g., CCLI Song Select, Song Show).
  • Assist in setting up and tearing down musical equipment before and after services.
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before services and 10 minutes before rehearsals.
  • Maintain a written log of work performed under the contract.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience in Protestant contemporary worship music and familiarity with its traditions.
  • Ability to read sheet music (preferred, but not required).
  • Experience in worship planning, music arrangement, and leading ensembles.
  • Strong vocal performance skills and ability to teach new music.
  • Experience directing choirs and music teams in a worship setting.
  • Technical proficiency in operating sound and projection systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with chapel staff, volunteers, and other faith groups.
  • Must pass a background check in accordance with DoD regulations.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Contracted up to 112 units per year, with each unit covering one worship service, rehearsal, or meeting (up to two hours each).
  • Compensation to be determined based on experience and contract terms.
