Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established standards of practice and physician orders. This role requires technical expertise, attention to patient safety, and effective communication to ensure high-quality imaging and positive patient experiences. The Radiology Technologist plays a key role in supporting accurate diagnoses and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and scope of practice

  • Review patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate imaging exams

  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures, equipment, and safety considerations

  • Prepare imaging equipment, supplies, and examination rooms

  • Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters

  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal image quality

  • Monitor image quality and identify issues requiring correction

  • Reposition patients or repeat imaging procedures when necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy

  • Implement radiation safety standards and perform quality control procedures

  • Troubleshoot, resolve, or report equipment malfunctions

  • Accurately enter, transmit, and document imaging results in the system

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and regulatory standards


Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s Degree required

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Active state radiology license, if applicable

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment

  • Excellent patient care and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and commitment to image quality and safety

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
