Registered Respiratory Therapist – Polysomnographer (RRT-PSG)
GD Resources LLC is seeking experienced and qualified Registered Respiratory Therapists with Polysomnography credentials (RRT-Polysomnographers) to support sleep diagnostic and respiratory therapy services at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. This role involves performing full-night and split-night polysomnography studies and providing advanced respiratory care in accordance with VA and nationally recognized sleep medicine standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform full-night and split-night polysomnography studies
Conduct CPAP titration during split-night studies when obstructive sleep apnea is identified
Monitor and record sleep stages and physiological parameters, including EEG, EOG, EMG, airflow, oxygen saturation, EKG, limb movements, and body position
Provide continuous technologist attendance during sleep studies
Perform electronic and manual sleep scoring in accordance with standardized staging criteria
Maintain detailed technical logs documenting nocturnal patient activity, position, and events
Provide patient and family education related to sleep studies and PAP therapy
Respond to emergencies and Rapid Response situations as required
Follow all VA policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, including split-night protocols
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting
Work under the direction of Pulmonary and Critical Care leadership
Required Qualifications
Education:
Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Completion of an accredited Sleep Technology or Polysomnography program
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of Polysomnography (PSG) experience
Certifications (one required):
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – BRPT OR
Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) – AASM OR
Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) – NBRC
Additional Certifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential – NBRC
Current CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Medical Board of California
