Recruiting advice
Target Law Firm Conflicts Professionals Only - they need someone from law firms. Don't waste time on corporate legal departments or other industries. Focus on mid-size to large firms with robust conflicts teams.
Emphasize Analytical Experience Over Technical - The General Counsel cares most about candidates who can analyze complex reports and make independent clearance decisions. They have staff who can generate reports - they need someone who can interpret them.
5+ Years is the Floor - Don't submit anyone with less than 5 years of law firm conflicts experience. They are firm on this requirement.
Supervisory Experience is Gold - They want someone who can lead the small conflicts team. Anyone with management or supervisory experience will stand out.
JD is Nice but Not Required - The General Counsel would love a JD but they know it'll limit the pool. If you find someone with a JD they'll have more comp flexibility.
Volume Matters - They handle 30-50 conflicts emails daily. Make sure candidates can handle high-volume fast-paced environments
