Gastroenterology Physician & Nurse Practitioner (Onsite Services)
GD Resources LLC is seeking qualified healthcare professionals, including one (1) Gastroenterology Physician and one (1) Nurse Practitioner, to provide comprehensive onsite gastroenterology services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. Both providers are required to work concurrently to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Scope of Services
The contracted Physician and Nurse Practitioner shall deliver a full spectrum of gastroenterology services consistent with those provided in a modern, state-of-the-art healthcare facility. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders
- Performance and interpretation of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Development and management of patient care plans
- Coordination with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Documentation and maintenance of accurate medical records in accordance with VA policies
Standards of Care
All services shall meet or exceed nationally recognized clinical standards, including:
- American College of Physicians (ACP) Clinical Practice Guidelines
- American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Guidelines
Care provided must reflect best practices in gastroenterology and internal medicine, ensuring high-quality outcomes and patient safety.
Minimum Qualifications
Gastroenterology Physician
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Active, unrestricted medical license (any U.S. state or territory, as applicable)
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Demonstrated experience in clinical gastroenterology practice
Nurse Practitioner
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Active, unrestricted license
- Relevant clinical experience in gastroenterology or internal medicine preferred
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in gastroenterology clinics and procedural settings
- Perform consultations, follow-ups, and treatment planning
- Ensure compliance with VA policies, procedures, and documentation standards
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all federal healthcare regulations
- Collaborate effectively with VA staff and other healthcare professionals
