Job Title: Research Analyst - Communication
Position Type: Contingent upon contract award
Location: 1500 Army Pentagon, Washington DC 20310
Salary Range: $$65,500 - $70,000/annually
Benefits: Medical, PTO


Background: The Research Analyst will support the client by conducting in-depth research and analysis to enhance the  communication strategies. The role requires a strategic mindset and an understanding of media communication, with a focus on facilitating informed perceptions of military operations, countering misinformation, and supporting the client's mission through accurate information dissemination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to support the client's strategic communication objectives.
  • Develop reports and presentations that provide insights into public and media perceptions of military operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate media coverage of client's operations to identify trends, misinformation, and disinformation.
  • Collaborate with Public Affairs Officers to shape communication strategies that align with the client’s mission and objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on media engagement and stakeholder communication tactics.
  • Support the development of communication materials, including press releases, briefings, and talking points.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global and domestic military-related issues to inform analysis and recommendations.
  • Assist in planning and executing outreach activities to build public trust and confidence in the Army.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in strategic/tactical/media communication within the last 10 years.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex information and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of media landscapes and communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using research tools and media monitoring platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Familiarity with military operations and public affairs is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in public affairs or working within a military or government context.
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, error-free work.
