Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists
GD Resources is seeking Board-Certified Interventional Radiologists to provide world-class care to the Veterans at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center. This role involves performing a wide range of complex IR procedures in an ACR-accredited facility. In addition to clinical duties, the selected physician will serve as an attending physician, overseeing and mentoring residents in accordance with ACGME guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Procedures: Perform a full spectrum of IR interventions including, but not limited to:
- Angiography Biliary Intervention Balloon Angioplasty/Stent Placement
- Biopsy Chemoembolization Cholecystostomy
Cryoablation Drain Insertions Dialysis Access & Related Interventions
Embolization Gastrostomy IVC filters
Kyphoplasty Line Insertion Microwave Ablation
Radiology Y90 Radioembolization Radiofrequency Ablation
Thrombolysis TIPS placement Nephrostomy Placement Emergency Response: Provide on-call coverage for weeknights, weekends, and Federal holidays. Must be on-site within 45 minutes for emergency procedures during call hours.
Clinical Oversight: Obtain VA clinical privileges and serve as the attending physician for medical residents, ensuring compliance with Residency Review Committee (RRC) standards.
Operational Readiness: Provide unscheduled coverage for VA staff radiologists as needed, with a required on-site response time of 2 hours.
Quality Standards: Maintain all services in strict accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
Board Certification: Must be Board Certified in Interventional Radiology.
Education: MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine.
Licensure: Valid, unrestricted medical license. (must be able to obtain VA clinical privileges).
Resident Supervision: Must meet ACGME requirements to supervise and teach physician residents.
- Proximity: Ability to meet the 45-minute emergency response requirement is mandatory.
