Job Title: IT Security Standards - Technical Writer
Place of Performance: 200 West Baltimore Street; Baltimore, MD 21201
Rate: $55hr - $60/hr
Position Overview:
GD Resources LLC is seeking an experienced IT Security Standards - Technical Writer to join our team. This role involves working with our client to review and revise the Data Security and Safeguarding Plan (DSSP). The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT security standards, technical writing, and policy development. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, revise, and align IT security standards with best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input and ensure standards meet all parties' needs.
- Review and incorporate Statewide Data Governance Policies and Standards into the DSSP.
- Provide a final revised DSSP that includes current best practices and complies with the IT Security Manual.
- Conduct privacy compliance reviews, security audits, and establish breach notification and data retention policies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Writing, Security, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and writing IT security standards.
- Familiarity with IT security policies and technical documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate existing documentation and identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent communication skills for clear and concise documentation.
- Experience with Statewide Data Governance frameworks and IT Security Manuals.
