Onsite Therapeutic Medical Physicist (TMP)

Location: Baltimore VAMC, 10 N. Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201
Position Type: Contracted, Onsite / 2080h hours per year

Position Summary:
GD Resources, LLC is seeking an  Onsite Therapeutic Medical Physicist (TMP) to provide direct support for clinical radiation therapy, ensuring accurate planning, delivery, and verification of treatments. The TMP collaborates with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and the CTMP to maintain high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine QA of linear accelerators and imaging systems.

• Assist in treatment planning, verification, and dose calculation.

• Support image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and cone-beam CT procedures.

• Ensure adherence to ACR, ASTRO, and AAAPM technical standards.

• Document all procedures and maintain compliance records.

• Provide input on equipment commissioning and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics.

• Board Certified by ABR in Therapeutic Medical Physics.

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in radiation oncology physics.

• Proficient with Varian Linear Accelerators (Edge or equivalent), IGRT/Cone Beam CT, Eclipse TPS, ARIA system, MapCheck I/II, Siemens SOMATOM go.Open Pro CT.

• Familiarity with 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, IMRT/VMAT modalities.

• Knowledge of APeX/ACR/ASTRO accreditation standards and VA CPRS EMR preferred.

• Must meet all credentialing, immunization, and OSHA bloodborne pathogen training requirements.
