Job Title: Senior Scrum Master
Industry: State Agency
Location: Linthicum, MD (Primarily Onsite)
Rate: $50/hr - $60/hr

 
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to lead and coach Agile Scrum teams in delivering high-value products. This role focuses on guiding teams through Agile frameworks, ensuring delivery of solutions within scope, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience facilitating Agile ceremonies, using tools like Jira or VersionOne, and coaching cross-functional teams. Candidates with prior experience supporting state benefits programs are highly preferred.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage one or more Agile Scrum teams, ensuring smooth delivery of project goals.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Remove impediments that block team progress and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Use Agile tools like Jira or VersionOne to track project progress and maintain transparency.
  • Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement within the team by facilitating feedback sessions and implementing lessons learned.
  • Ensure projects align with organizational goals, timelines, and quality standards.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agile (SSM) certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, frameworks, and practices.
  • Experience leading Agile ceremonies and working with Agile tracking tools (Jira, VersionOne, etc.).
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor Agile teams.
  • Prior experience working with benefits or eligibility systems strongly preferred.
