Position Overview:
Support the WCB's enterprise data warehouse and BI systems under the HBITS initiative. This senior-level IT Specialist will develop Pentaho ETL processes, BI dashboards, and support analytics needs for various agency projects. Required skills include Pentaho, SQL, data profiling, star schema modeling, and Power BI.

Position Overview:
Support the WCB's enterprise data warehouse and BI systems under the HBITS initiative. This senior-level IT Specialist will develop Pentaho ETL processes, BI dashboards, and support analytics needs for various agency projects. Required skills include Pentaho, SQL, data profiling, star schema modeling, and Power BI.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and validate business intelligence and reporting requirements
- Document requirements and data solutions
- Conduct data profiling of source systems
- Design dimensional star schemas for data warehouse/marts
- Map source system data to target warehouse data structures
- Develop ETL workflows using Pentaho or SSIS
- Build reports and dashboards using Pentaho, Tableau, SSRS, or Power BI
- Write advanced SQL queries using Transact-SQL and analytic functions
- Conduct testing and finalize documentation
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in building extraction and transformation of transactional data to drive data warehouse loads and end user BI as well as reporting requirements using ETL tools like Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- 5 years experience in reporting and analytics tools such as Pentaho or Tableau
- 5 years experience in complex SQL development leveraging analytics functions using in Sybase ASE or SQL Server
- 2 years experience in Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) development
- 5 years experience in Star Schema / Dimensional Modeling to support data warehouse environments
- 5 years experience in doing data profiling and source-to-target mappings
- 5 years experience in internal and external stakeholder communications and outreach, including the development of presentations and other materials
