Position Overview:

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Workers to perform cleaning and maintenance services at the U.S. Army Engineers District, Vicksburg Repair & Supply Base. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across multiple buildings and facilities on-site.


Key Responsibilities:

  • General cleaning: sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors.

  • Dust and clean walls, ceilings, light fixtures, blinds, furniture, and equipment.

  • Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms, bathrooms, and washrooms.

  • Empty wastebaskets, replace liners, and remove trash.

  • Wash interior and exterior windows.

  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets.

  • Clean and disinfect water fountains and partitions.

  • Maintain cleanliness of lunchrooms and fitness rooms.

  • Replace light bulbs as needed.

  • Assist with moving furniture for cleaning and shampooing carpets quarterly.

  • Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks (waxing, buffing, stripping floors, window cleaning).

  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored neatly in designated closets.


Work Schedule:

  • Regular Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

  • Special Tasks: Stripping/waxing and carpet shampooing after 4:30 PM or on weekends.

  • Federal holidays and Engineer’s Day (date TBD) are observed as non-working days.


Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident (documentation required).

  • Minimum age: 21 (waived for honorably discharged veterans with 2+ years of service).

  • Must pass pre-employment checks including:

    • Criminal background check (local & state police records).

    • Employment history verification.

  • Must be in good physical condition and free of communicable diseases.

  • Ability to lift and move equipment/furniture for cleaning tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.


Security & Conduct:

  • Must comply with access and security requirements of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

  • Participation in Antiterrorism (AT) Level 1 training, OPSEC training, and Suspicious Activity Reporting (iWATCH/CorpsWatch) as required.

  • No smoking, alcohol, illegal substances, or weapons permitted on premises.

  • Professional behavior required at all times; harassment, abusive language, or misconduct will result in removal from the site.
