Position Overview

GD Resources is seeking an Expert Software Developer to support a long-term initiative with a public sector client in Albany, NY. The developer will act as the lead supporting the Home Care Services Worker Registry for the Department of Health. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of object-oriented programming, Java development, and modern web technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and modification of technical/design specifications and documentation

  • Perform analysis of existing codebases for planning enhancements and technical upgrades

  • Support and maintain web applications across UI, business logic, and data access layers

  • Conduct full-cycle software development including coding, unit testing, and implementation

  • Provide expert-level guidance to development teams and participate in architectural decisions

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet business requirements and timelines

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in object-oriented analysis and design using Java

  • 7+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL, including developing procedures and packages

  • 4+ years of experience with the Struts 2 MVC framework

  • 2+ years of experience with the Spring MVC framework

  • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks

  • 1+ year of experience building and maintaining responsive web applications

  • 1+ year of experience developing Java Web Services (REST and SOAP)

  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver enterprise-level solutions

Preferred Skills

  • Strong communication and documentation abilities

  • Experience in public sector or healthcare domain projects

  • Ability to work both independently & collaboratively in a hybrid environment
