Position Overview

GD Resources is seeking qualified and motivated Safety and Health Instructors to deliver critical safety training courses to U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) personnel throughout Central and Southern Oregon. Instructors will teach First Aid, CPR, AED usage, and Bee Sting/Epinephrine Administration according to OSHA, American Heart Association, and State of Oregon standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, interactive safety training sessions at various Forest Service and BLM locations.

  • Conduct courses primarily between January and July, with occasional training outside these months.

  • Issue certificates of completion or certification cards to participants on the same day.

  • Use and maintain training equipment such as manikins, AED trainers, projectors, and training supplies.

  • Provide class syllabi and course materials before training sessions.

  • Submit proper invoices and class rosters within one business day after each session.

  • Maintain a positive, professional classroom environment and manage attendance policies (e.g., turning away late arrivals).


Required Qualifications

  • Current EMT Certification (Emergency Medical Technician).

  • Minimum of 2 years instructional experience in relevant subject areas.

  • Completed formal instructor training in First Aid/CPR/AED and/or Epinephrine Administration OR possess equivalent academic and instructional experience.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel throughout Central Oregon (travel expenses covered in contract pricing).

  • Ability to replace classes/instruction within 24 hours in case of emergencies (contingency plans required).

  • Ability to respond to government contacts within 24 hours.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience teaching in a government, military, or public sector environment.

  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, American Heart Association and Red Cross training guidelines.

  • Knowledge of local BLM and USFS safety procedures.

  • Prineville, OR

  • Redmond, OR

  • Sisters, OR

  • Bend, OR

  • Crescent, OR

  • Maupin, OR (exact assignments vary)
