IT Specialist – Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence (Expert Level)

GD Resources is seeking an Expert-Level IT Specialist to support the ongoing development and maintenance of Data Warehouse (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for a critical agency initiative. The selected professional will work on a long-term engagement focused on enterprise data integration, advanced reporting, and analytics delivery. This role is central to optimizing data-driven decision-making for our public sector partner.

• Gather, analyze, and validate BI and reporting requirements

• Perform data profiling on diverse source systems

• Design dimensional data models using Star Schema methodology

• Execute source-to-target mapping for DW integration

• Develop robust ETL workflows using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) or SSIS

• Build and deploy dashboards and reports using Pentaho, Tableau, or Power BI

• Create complex SQL queries leveraging advanced analytical functions in Sybase or SQL Server

• Document technical solutions, data mappings, and workflow specifications

• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and performance tuning

• Provide knowledge transfer through weekly design and development meetings

• Participate in the creation of design documents, training guides, and presentation materials

• Attend mandatory state and agency-specific training sessions

• 7+ years experience with Pentaho PDI or SSIS for ETL development

• 7+ years experience with BI/reporting tools like Pentaho or Tableau

• 7+ years of advanced SQL development experience with Sybase ASE or Microsoft SQL Server

• 5+ years experience in designing star schema dimensional models

• 4+ years hands-on experience with Pentaho Data Integration development

• 7+ years performing data profiling and ETL source-to-target mappings

• 7+ years stakeholder-facing experience including presentations and outreach materials

• Strong written documentation and technical communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment (50% telecommuting allowed)

• Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) upon engagement
