Position Overview:
We are seeking an Expert Software Architect to provide Infrastructure/PeopleSoft Administration support for current PeopleSoft applications. The selected candidate will assist with designing, upgrading, and implementing solutions for HCM HR and NYBEAS applications. This is a full-time, 30-month engagement starting October 6, 2025, with the option to telecommute up to 50%.
Responsibilities:
- Provide PeopleSoft application and architectural support, including infrastructure research, documentation, and guidance.
- Install, configure, and triage software components (WebLogic, Tuxedo, Elastic Search, Oracle database) for new environments.
- Design infrastructure layouts and provide technical direction based on best practices to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with agencies and support teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Research, resolve, and test PeopleSoft configurations and upgrades.
- Provide support for HCM upgrades, patches, and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop procedural documentation and knowledge transfer materials through job shadowing and written documentation.
Qualifications:
Software Architect: Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-level architecture or component interactions for large-scale software systems. (Pass/Fail per OGS HBITS determination.)
- 7 years of system administration experience in Oracle PeopleSoft HR & HCM 9 or higher, including installation, configuration, tuning, upgrades/patching, and code migrations in Unix/Solaris/Linux environments.
- 7 years of experience with PeopleSoft People Tools 8.49 or higher, including installation, upgrading, patching, and configuration.
- 7 years of experience performing People Tools and PeopleSoft application upgrades using PUM and Change Assistant tools.
- 5 years of experience with WebLogic and Tuxedo, including troubleshooting, installation, configuration, upgrading, and high availability (HA).
- 5 years of experience with Oracle 10g or higher databases, including creating and maintaining PeopleSoft databases.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Additional Information:
- Due Date: September 11, 2025
- Interview Format: Webcasting (Camera required) but must available for in-person interview
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Security Requirements: Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and fingerprint-based background check.
- Training Requirements: Annual NYS-mandated training may be required.
- Travel: Not anticipated.
