Job Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator
Place of Performance: Hybrid – Two days remote, three days onsite in Annapolis, MD
Minimum Experience: 15+ years in IT, including 10+ years as a Red Hat system administrator
Rate: $50/hr - $60/hr
Employment Type: Contract – W2
Duration: 30 Months

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator to support enterprise-level systems within a high-demand IT environment. This role will involve administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, optimizing performance, maintaining security standards, and supporting a wide range of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with deep expertise in Linux system administration, automation, and infrastructure support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in development, testing, and production environments
- Conduct system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues for system optimization
- Automate system administration tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python
- Configure and manage Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and associated tools
- Collaborate with security teams to implement security policies and protect systems
- Support disaster recovery, storage management, and backup solutions (including Rubrik)
- Provide technical guidance for Linux-based application deployments
- Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations and troubleshooting procedures
- Set up and manage NFS mount points and cron jobs for system and application needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification
- 10+ years Red Hat system administration experience; 15+ years in IT overall
- Experience with IBM AIX/pSeries, Oracle WebLogic and Database Servers, Apache, Progress/OpenEdge, vSphere, and Elastic Search
- Strong background in performance tuning, load balancing, disaster recovery, and 24/7 system availability
- Familiarity with CVS, Oracle OBI, PeopleSoft, Mobius, and Electronic Imaging Support
- Ability to provide on-site support within 24 hours when required
- Availability for in-person interview in Annapolis, MD
